Creating a new exciting brand for the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point began with market research both on campus and with alumni coast to coast. The theme for the university’s first ever comprehensive campaign came out of the results of that research: Then, Now & Forever. We Are Point.
Bringing together more than 1,000 graduates from the tumultuous 1960s at the University of Wisconsin took a special kind of branding that definitely could not be Badger red and white.
PMD’s campaign for the Great People Scholarship fund included segmented direct mail and email appeals to alumni and donors based on degree years and majors, and linked to personalized URLs and an online survey. Measurement of the campaign’s effectiveness was conducted through focus groups and phone interviews.
PMD’s branding and marketing strategy included print advertising and public relations opportunities to drive traffic to media-rich content. PMD used available campus outlets to promote the scholarship without cost, including sports marketing and the scoreboards at Camp Randall Stadium.
